Hadiya Kounsar holds a Master’s degree in Agronomy from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology – Kashmir. Her academic and research background includes work in nutrient management with a focus on maize, where she developed a particular interest in nitrogen dynamics. Recognizing nitrogen as a critical nutrient in plant growth and development, she joined the Schnable Lab to advance her expertise in this area. Her current research centers on nitrogen rate management in maize, with the dual goal of enhancing crop profitability and mitigating environmental impacts. Her role involves the integration, documentation, and analysis of large-scale datasets to generate insights that support sustainable agricultural practices. Outside of research, Hadiya has a passion for photography, often capturing skies, clouds, mountains, and landscapes, reflecting her deep appreciation for nature.
